Inheritance Law, Forced Heirship Rules and Enforcement of Judgement

I have been a speaker at the STEP Europe Conference in Budapest about Israeli Inheritance Law and Forced Heirship Rules. Freedom of Testation is one of the cornerstones of the Israeli Inheritance law.   Under Israeli Succession Law there are no forced heirship rules. However, in a cross border inheritance scenario forced heirship rules can play a role also for Israeli residents. At the conference, we discussed options to avoid forced heirship rules. One possibility might be the choice of law under the EU Succession Regulations and/or the creation of foreign or Israeli trusts.
